Modern Slavery encompasses various forms of exploitation where individuals are deprived of their freedom and forced to work or live under exploitative conditions.
In the UK, an estimated 100,000 to 150,000 people are victims of modern slavery. In 2025, the NRM received 23,411 referrals, a 22.1% increase from 19,177 the previous year, highlighting a continued rise in child exploitation and trafficking.
The economic and social costs per modern slavery victim are estimated to be £328,720, potentially totaling £32.9 billion annually.
Modern slavery is often framed through statistics or fear-based narratives rather than empowerment. The Unbound Programme takes a transformational, coaching-led, strengths-based approach, supporting survivors to rebuild their lives with autonomy, confidence, and dignity.
The Unbound Framework™
Survivors are supported to feel safe, stabilised, and emotionally grounded. This phase builds trust and creates the foundation needed for healing and forward movement.
Harmful beliefs shaped by exploitation are challenged and dismantled. Survivors begin to replace shame and self-blame with understanding, agency, and self-compassion.
Identity and strengths are rediscovered beyond trauma. Survivors reconnect with their values, confidence, and aspirations, shaping a future on their own terms.
Practical skills and capabilities are developed. Through coaching and structured support, survivors build autonomy, life skills, and pathways toward stability and independence.
Long-term freedom and sustainability are strengthened. Survivors move forward with resilience, community connection, and the confidence to lead their own lives.
